Joy Comes in the Morning – Day 10

Prepare for Victory

“But thanks be to God!  He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57

Scripture Reading:  Psalm 16:5-11, Psalm 20:6-8, Psalm 37:23-24, 1 Corinthians 15:58, 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

As I read in 1 Corinthians, Paul compares life to a race. He says to “run in such a way as to get the prize.”

If that’s the analogy we are to use, I have to tell you that this morning I woke up with a pounding head and aching body. I hurt from the pain of yesterday’s race and the awful fall I took. I can still walk, but my elbows and knees are all skinned up from hitting the pavement, and even my hands are tender with some new flesh being exposed as a result of trying to brace my fall. Can I just take a couple of Tylenols and pull the covers back over my head? The pain is real – the fall was real – the temptation to not run today is real.

Then I hear the Words that I’ve read time and time again. I’m reminded of how powerful they are and why it’s so important to have Scripture etched into my heart … for times like these.

  • You (Lord) are a shield around me
  • You lift my head high
  • You answer when I call
  • You sustain me
  • You deliver me
  • You are my Shield
  • You are my Refuge
  • You never forsake or leave me
  • You hear my cry
  • Your love for me never fails
  • You are my Strength
  • You are my Salvation
  • You turn my darkness into light
  • You pulled me out of the miry pit
  • You guide me in what is right

I trust in You, Lord Jesus! Because the victory is in the power of your righteous right Hand! Even though I may walk through some dark valleys, I will fear no evil, for YOU are with me! Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life! Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning! The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him.

Prepare for victory my friend! If He is Lord of your life, you already have the final victory!

And, if you don’t know him, let’s talk! Today!!

God gives strength to the weary. He increases the power of the weak. He renews my strength as I put my hope in Him. Through His power and strength, I will get up and soar, I will run and not grow weary, I will walk and not faint! I will run this race as to win the prize!

For His Grace is sufficient for me and His power is made perfect in my weakness!

“Victory in Jesus – my Savior forever! He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood!”

With much love,

+Linda

  1. Ladies, Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you, your testimonies, and His Word to minister to me and through me to others these last 10 days. The lyrics of “Your Love Never Fails” continues to ring in my mind before, during, and after Revive 2018. May we all “Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.
